ABOUT ME

How I got here, and where I'm going...

As a founding member of the Folk Rock duo "The Walking Brothers", I performed hundreds of shows across New Jersey, building quite a business for my act and helping to pay tuition as I studied business at Fairleigh Dickinson University. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with my Master's Degree in Business Administration, but shortly after realized just how anti-creative the American workplace has become, especially in my industry.

After applying for dozens of jobs that seemed soul-sucking and completely wrong for someone like me, in May of 2019 I ended up working for the Boy Scouts of America. I worked two years in my Scouting role. During my last few months there, I realized I needed to make a change, so I enrolled in Data Analytics classes, touched up my resume, and applied to hundreds of jobs. Of those hundreds, I got three call backs, had two interviews, and got one job. That's how I landed at IQVIA in April of 2021, performing data analysis for pharmaceutical companies and helping to "move healthcare forward", or so I was told... I loved the people I worked with, but working for the US pharmaceutical industry was never something I wanted to do, even though it was a very good job.

After about a year with IQVIA, my life plans changed drastically, and my wife and I found ourselves applying to move to Canada. If you want to know more about that, you can read it on her blog "Bridges and Towers", which is linked in the Collaborations tab above. Anyway, I ended up having to look for a job that I could bring with me to Canada, so my time with IQVIA was cut short to only one year and eight months when I was offered the position of Sustainability & Documentation Administrator at Forbo Flooring Systems. Sustainability has been a passion of mine since college, so of course I was thrilled to accept the position and I am loving it! I'll be writing about my experiences at Forbo in my own blog once I get that up and running, so stay tuned!

Aside from the changes in my professional career, Covid effectively stunted my musical endeavors and drastically changed that part of my life too. The Walking Brothers stopped performing altogether, and my need for a creative outlet took me through several new hobbies (painting, writing, poetry...) before I realized the beauty and creativity in photography, and that's how I ended up picking up my camera and honing my skills to the point that I'm now shooting professional headshots, events, and portraits when opportunities arise. I dabble in all aspects of photography, but I specialize in portraits, groups (bands, political campaigns), events, and animals.

As a musician, I still write and perform solo, and I sometimes collaborate with other bands, so again be sure to check out that collab tab above! My current goal is to finish writing an album I've been working on for years. More news on that to come. It's a slow burn project, but it's in the works.

If you've made it this far, thanks for reading! Check out the rest of my site for examples of my work and links to my various projects. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to book something or collaborate!

All the best,
